It happens more and more often that we discover cyclists from different parts of the world who face their challenges on a Repente saddle. It’s always a nice surprise, but this one was even more so.
Canadian comedian and actor Jay du Temple has concluded the tour of his second one-man show FIN with a major challenge: running and cycling across Canada. He did this feat for the benefit of the Douglas Foundation in order to support mental health research and invited the public to support the cause by making a donation.
In the cycling stages of his tour Jay was riding an Argon 18 bike equipped with a Repente Prime 3.0 saddle.
The Douglas Institute is home to the largest mental health research centre in Quebec: its goal is to promote mental health through the understanding of the causes, treatment and prevention of psychiatric disorders by applying cutting-edge scientific methods to the specific challenges posed by mental illnesses.
Jay has gathered and donated more than 151K dollars.
“Sports are what helps me take care of my mental health – he said -. Often, when I’m nervous or need to bring myself back to neutral, going for a jog or a bike ride helps me a lot. That’s why I approached the Douglas Foundation. Especially since mental health affects so many people, a reality that we’re only just starting to talk about. I feel lucky to be able to talk about it more openly and to dedicate this tour to it”.
This is why we’re even more proud to have supported Jay in this praiseworthy adventure.
