The 5th ZLM Tour stage started with great enthusiasm, the teams were determined to do battle to compete for the last finish line of the Zeeland stage race. The first hour was covered at an average of 51.

In the sprint Salby played cunningly, catching the group off guard and managing to reach the finish line ahead of Syritsa and Mareczko, who were coming fast from behind. “I knew I was in good condition, today I had the right legs and the team did a good job, putting me in a position to win. In the last two kilometers my teammate put me in the lead so that I could start the sprint in a good position,” Salby said. “I attacked early and managed to hold on until the finish line. I’m very happy both for myself and for the team, we worked so hard and we deserved it. Today I won thanks to all this work.”
